A man wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old college-student athlete at a college party has turned himself in, while his twin remains at large.
Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Nelly Miles told news outlets that 19-year-old Khalif Wagner turned himself in at the Toombs County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday. Wagner faces murder and aggravated assault charges in the Sept. 24 shooting of Stevenson Derival at an off-campus party.
Derival attended Towers High in DeKalb County and was on the wrestling and track and field teams at Brewton-Parker College, a private Christian college around 165 miles (266 kilometers) southeast of Atlanta.
Wagner’s twin brother, Khalil Wagner, is also wanted on charges in the shooting, which injured another man.
It’s unclear if the Wagners have lawyers.
